- The scriptures balance what you read.
- Teaches us to eat meat sparingly. The gut system in carnivores is short and able to digest meat. Ours is longer and meat gets acidic and cancerous by the end. Fish is ingested differently and is healthy for you. Eat beans and other sources of protein.
- Honey
- Substitute for sugar
- 1/4 cup honey = 1 cup sugar
- Add into recipes with other liquids.
- Bones
- Soda takes calcium out of our bones.
- Milk and calcium doesn't necessarily help our bones.
- Weight bearing exercise is the best thing for bones.
- Morning Routine
- Cough 5 times
- cleans out lungs and organs
- helps circulation and increases oxygen in blood
- Eat Breakfast
- raw yams, carrots, cabbage
- Drink Water
- warm water is better for the heart
- Carbs in the morning
- whole grain rice with honey and sometimes an egg
- vegetable soup - potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, mixed with rice
- brown rice - soak for 24 hours before steaming

- Pain Killers and Benadryl
- Slings, Sutures and Clamps, Gauze, Ace Bandages, Rubber Gloves, Tourniquet, Alcohol Swabs
- Candy for kids and people with low blood sugar
- Always wear boots when hiking
- leave boot on if something happens to the foot to keep down swelling
- Military style fanny pack is great for first aid kit
- Be Prepared
- have kits in cars and also things for kids to do in car in case you break down

Adults
- Always have a medication list (with dosage) in your wallet or purse
- Bring medication with you to the hospital in original bottle. Nurse can verify with pharmacist and you won't have to pay lots at the hospital for it.
- Signs of a Stroke
- You only have a 3 hour window from when symptoms begin when it can be treated and damage reversed
- confusion, slurred speech, vision, squeeze hands (same strength in both), push and pull feet, eyes (pupils same), stick tongue out (should be straight), arms out (shouldn't droop)
- Heart Attack in Women
- jaw pain radiating down neck and back
- heaviness on chest, can't breathe
- triggers - emotional stress
- heaviness in throat (not like a cold)
- Dementia vs Delirium
- Dementia is caused by untreated pain - chronic pain should always be treated
- Dehydration causes dementia and UTIs
- watch out for vomiting and diarrhea
- UTIs - symptoms include confusion, change in mental status
- Constipation
- can be caused by pain meds
- Wash hands when taking care of sick people and after doing their laundry (clothes and bedding)
Kids
- Headaches
- Caused by:
- electronics, bad posture, not enough sleep, diet, caffeine withdrawals
- Cures:
- dark room with cold compress
- relaxing
- Tylenol, ibuprofen
- If it lasts more than 2 days contact a doctor
- If it happens more than 3 times per month contact a doctor
- Vomiting and Diarrhea
- drink fluids in small amounts
- Color
- Red or Black diarrhea go to ER
- Green vomit go to ER or doctor
- Fever - 100.4 degrees
- Contact doctor or ER if 103+ degrees that doesn't come down with help
- Cold compress, popsicles, lukewarm tub, Tylenol, ibuprofen (rotate the two every 3 hour)
- Head Trauma
- Always need to see a doctor or ER
- There could be internal bleeding = death
- Headache or Vomiting call 911
- If they are tired with no other symptoms it is okay to sleep
- Do not use ibuprofen or aspirin (blood thinners)
- Blood Sugar
- get light headed and cranky = low blood sugar
- losing eyesight, balance, memory = high blood sugar
- Try to get to the doctor before closing - much cheaper than ER visit - Quick Care closes at 8
- A.B.C.
- airway, breathing, circulation - GO TO ER
- Broken Bones
- ice and immobilize - keep swelling down so they can put on cast
- may be hard to tell if it is broken
