Message on Visiting Teaching from Sister Adamson

Sisters,

President Asay asked us to include messages about Sabbath Day worship and the Sacrament along with the visiting teaching messages this year.  When you teach the commandment to keep the Sabbath Day Holy, teach both the principle and the promise.

When Joyce Haverfield gave a talk on this very subject she quoted Leviticus 26:2-12 .  That scripture promises many blessings and protections when we obey God's command to keep His Sabbath day sacred. Isaiah 58:13-14, together with D&C 59, are powerful scriptures that teach the principle with a promise. If you keep the Sabbath day holy you will be bless with temporal blessings.  D&C 59:9-15 give the principle; 16-19 give the Lord's promise.

This year our visiting teaching message have been explaining the attributes of Christ.  When we partake of the sacrament worthily, we receive forgiveness for our sins and we become fertile, fallow ground for the blessings of change.  We begin acquiring the attributes of the Savior.

By keeping the Sabbath Day holy and partaking ofthe Sacrament worthily we are bless temporally and spiritually.  I promise if you will sincerely make the effort to teach the principles of keeping the Sabbath Day holy and partaking the Sacrament worthily as directed by President Asay, blessings will distill upon the lives of the sisters you teach.

-Sister Adamson
